Its a dustjacket, the trunk goes on the cover and the left side of the image is the spine and the reverse of the book.
There was a network of white roots intertwined with bones originally, but it got too busy so I got rid of it. Might upload that one too, its quite different.

Its 14 short horror stories, I haven't read them! It will be out in America in September, its called Dark Delicacies, published by perseus books.

it looks great mate, a very striking and spooky image... I love the attention to detail with the faces in the trunk, and I think you did the right thing by getting rid of the roots, this works as a simple yet striking image, I can imagine adding that extra detail would dampen the impact and spell things out a little too much, maybe. It would still be interesting to see it though. \:]
